Instant Chemistry “Wedding photography tends to focus on ‘pretty’ whereas we are happy to focus on interesting, sexy, ironic, funny and, sometimes, just plain strange,” Mark says. “This has produced a niche market of clients who love to look at complex images, who have a wonderful sense of humor, who are comfortable in their own skin.” “We custom design each wedding album to reflect the personality and style of each event because we are committed to providing a unique interpretation of our art,” Mark says. “Each image gets special attention to bring out its full richness of light and color.” Dian Photography’s commitment extends beyond their family and their art. “Shooting an engagement session helps break the ice,” Mark says. “We can relax with them and they can relax with us”. “Lots of times, the session ends up being like friends out together having an awesome time. When couples feel free to express themselves it definitely shows in their images.” Wedding Photography and Videography For 70 years our family business has taken pride in its quality, service and passion for creatively meeting all its customers’ expectations. We cater to the classic and unconventional wedding with a refreshing new approach. Natural colored portraits, state of the art digital, color tinting, videography and timeless black and white photography are among our many services. As an added option, Instead of just telling clients to select photos and get back to them – usually months later – Mark and his staff of in-house designers can create the album the way they believe it should look, then have the couple review the book online. “In studio we proof the album proposal on a wide-screen LCD, which makes the images really pop,” says Mark. “They can change as much as they want, or approve it as it is. We go page by page with them, and help make any changes. We’ve always felt that guiding our clients through the process is important because it allows us to give them an album we’re thrilled with.” It wouldn’t be Dian Photography if their designs weren’t a little different. They offer several album styles and one they call their Modern Design. “We coined the term because we wanted to make a distinction between what we’re doing, and the gallery/magazine-style books that potential clients see when they’re choosing a photographer,” Mark says. While they use flush-mount books as a platform, Dian Photography typically fuse traditional and contemporary in either a layered digital design or a classic leather bound album. “As often as possible, we like to have photos run double-truck or full-page and we leave white space if they don’t. It’s a minimalist design, but we feel that good photos don’t need to be dressed up,” Mark says. “It’s been a smash with our clients, who often say that the albums were an important part of their decision to hire us.” Dian Photography incorporates an online design center with a built-in client proofing area and shopping cart. This is essential for their destination weddings. Digital Family Using their Digital collection, Dian Photographers shoot 100% in raw, allowing them to nail the color every time, even in mixed-light situations. “Our equipment is especially great, because we need to shoot in low-light options without loosing a sense of intimacy.
